Garbage and Recycling Information

The City of Blue Lake contracts garbage and recycling pick up service with Blue Lake Garbage. To set up weekly service, please call 844-3503. Another option to weekly service is to use "blue bags."  As a service to the residents of Blue Lake, "blue bags" may be purchased at City Hall.

Mandatory Commercial Recycling information

In June 2012 the Governor signed Senate Bill 1018 which included an amendment that requires a business that generates  4 cubic yards or more of commercial solid waste per week to arrange for recycling services.  For more information, please click on the following website:

Organic Waste

In October of 2014 Governor Brown signed AB 1826, requiring businesses that generate 4 cubic yards of waste or more per week to recycle their organic waste starting January 1, 2017. Organic waste means food waste, green waste, landscape and pruning waste, nonhazardous wood waste, and food-soiled paper waste that is mixed in with food waste. Green Waste Days

Drop off your grass, clippings, flower cuttings, hedge trimmings, leaves and brush. Please do NOT bring pressure treated wood, painted lumber, or dirt. For RESIDENTS ONLY!

Green Waste Days are from 9am-4pm and take place at 199 Taylor Way (Blue Lake Industrial Park).
