Blue Lake Coronavirus Update

Hello Blue Lake!

As the Coronavirus situation continues to evolve, the City is undertaking a proactive and fluid response to ensure that our community and our frontline workers receive the support and resources that they need and that we take all necessary precautions to reduce risks associated with the spread of the virus.

To that end, the City has made the decision to temporarily suspend public skating and drop-in basketball at Prasch Hall.  We will evaluate private rentals on a case-by-case basis to ensure that social distancing protocols can be met. The park grounds will remain open and we ask that people take the necessary precautions to protect their own health and those of other users, including washing hands, using hand sanitizer, maintaining 6 feet of personal space, and staying away from public spaces if you are feeling unwell.

The City has also implemented new protocol for over-the-counter transactions at City Hall and we are asking for the community’s support as we take the necessary steps to ensure the health and safety of our team, while still providing the highest level of customer service.  To that end, we are asking the community to utilize the two payment drop boxes located at City Hall for water and wastewater payments and respect the new “one person at the counter” and “stay behind the blue line” rules that are now in effect.   The City will also be working to implement an online payment system, along with the ability to email out water bills to those that request it.

We will continue to provide updates as the situation continues to evolve; please feel free to contact City Hall at 707-668-5655 with any questions or concerns; you can also email the City Manager, Mandy Mager, at citymanager@bluelake.ca.gov.

The City recognizes that this is a stressful and uncertain time for our community; if you have any other concerns or need additional information or assistance please don’t hesitate to contact us.  The City is working closely with our local, regional and national partners to ensure that our community receives the resources and information necessary to make informed and proactive decisions.
