Coronavirus Update March 20, 2020

Hello Blue Lake!

As many of you already know, the County of Humboldt has issued a “Shelter in your Place of Residence Order” effective March 20th-April 9th. This order allows individuals to leave their homes to provide or receive certain essential services or engage in certain essential activities.  In order to comply with this order City Hall will be modifying our operations in order to facilitate resident needs, while at the same time meeting the intent of the shelter order.  The Order can be found on the County’s website at the following address: https://humboldtgov.org/2018/Humboldt-Health-Alert

City Hall will still accept payments but we encourage residents to utilize the two payment drop boxes provided at City Hall.  If you need additional assistance, please call ahead to make arrangements to meet with staff.  We are also in the process of adding an on-line payment option to our website and we hope to have that available by Tuesday.

The Order allows for daily activity, including walking, riding, hiking, etc…; to that end we will keep the park grounds open to the public but discourage the use of the playground equipment.

The April 4th Green waste day and April 11th 2020 Easter Egg Hunt are both cancelled.

We know this is a trying and uncertain time for everyone and we want to ensure you all that our team is committed to the health and well-being of our community.  We will continue to keep you all updated as the situation evolves and encourage you to contact us if you have additional questions or concerns.  Please contact City Hall at 668-5655; we are here to answer questions and provide resource recommendations.

Stay healthy everyone!
