Parks and Recreation

The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for providing parks and recreation opportunities to the public.  The department does this by both offering its own programs as well as by maintaining facilities for public use.  The department is staffed by Parks and Recreation Director, Kara Newman, and utilizes additional employees as Recreation Supervisors, Recreation Coordinators, and many part-time recreation leaders.  The department works in conjunction with the advisory Blue Lake Parks and Recreation Commission to develop programs and policies.  The commission meets the second Tuesday of every other month at 6:00pm at Prasch Hall.

Among the programs regularly offered are roller skating, adult sports leagues, drop-in recreation, school break camps, summer recreation, leisure classes, facility rentals and seasonal events such as the Nessler Car Show. You can reach the Parks and Recreation Department at 707/668-5932.

Thank you  Blue Lake Rancheria, California Redwood Company, Green Diamond Resource Company, Bettendorf Trucking, Almquist Lumber, Pierson Building Center and the Blue Lake Chamber of Commerce for your generous donations to the Parks & Recreation Programs!
